A Bit About PANAGIOTIS VASILOPOULOS
Panagiotis Vasilopoulos is a distinguished figure in the world of basketball, recognized for his exceptional skills, dedication, and contributions to the sport. With a career spanning over two decades, Vasilopoulos has left an indelible mark, both as a player and now as a coach.
Panagiotis Vasilopoulos commenced his professional journey in 2001 with PAOK in the Greek League, showcasing his talent over four seasons. In 2005, he embarked on a new chapter, joining Olympiacos. This proved to be a turning point as he secured a four-year contract extension in 2008, contributing to Olympiacos' triumphs in the EuroLeague and Greek League championships in 2012.

Despite facing setbacks like a season-ending leg injury in 2012, Vasilopoulos displayed resilience, signing with Valladolid in the Spanish League.
His journey continued with notable stints at AEK Athens, where he clinched the Greek Cup and FIBA Champions League in 2018. Subsequently, he captained Peristeri, averaging 7.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.4 steals per game during the 2019-2020 season.

In August 2021, Vasilopoulos bid farewell to his illustrious playing career, having spent three seasons with Peristeri. His impact on the court and leadership qualities were epitomized during his tenure as the team captain.

Transitioning seamlessly into coaching, Vasilopoulos joined Milan Tomic's coaching staff at Peristeri in December 2021. His commitment to the sport remained unwavering, earning him a contract renewal in July 2022 as an assistant to Vassilis Spanoulis.

Panagiotis Vasilopoulos proudly represented Greece at various levels, achieving success with the national junior teams, including bronze medals at the 2002 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship and the 2003 FIBA Under-19 World Cup. His journey continued with the senior men's national team, where he played a pivotal role in securing the gold medal at EuroBasket 2005 and the silver medal at the 2006 FIBA World Championship. His international endeavors extended to EuroBasket 2007, the 2008 Summer Olympics, the 2019 FIBA European World Cup qualification, and the 2019 FIBA World Cup.
